The government says some countries like China and Iran are backing Kabul by providing medical equipment such as test kits.
No Taliban militant is among those prisoners who are going to be released in the coming days.
The government has already released over 500 Taliban prisoners in an ongoing prisoner swap with the militant group. The Taliban is is calling for the release of its remaining 5000 prisoners, including 15 key commanders, a demand that has been rejected by the government.
