A senior British government official said today that he was shocked by scenes of the Israeli police raid this morning on Al-Aqsa Mosque and attacking Muslim worshippers.
“Shocked to awake to the disturbing scenes of Israeli Security forces’ raid on the Al Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem injuring many worshippers during Ramadan,” Lord Tariq Ahmad, Minister of State Foreign Commonwealth and Development Affairs, said in a tweet.
“Violence only fuels more violence. The sanctity and status of the Holy sites must be respected and protected,” he said.
