Israelis protested against the occupation government’s judicial reform plan have sustained their seventeenth-week streak now.
AFP reported that the settlement of ‘Tel Aviv’ was packed with protesters tonight as divisions in the settler society remain as sharp days before Israeli representatives hold a session in the Knesset.
While Netanyahu has elected to postpone the judicial reform, the protests have sustained their momentum. The opposition has been uncompromising on their demands for the judicial reform to be completely nullified.
“History has its eyes on you” read a sign at the protests tonight as protestors denounced Netanyahu’s initiative accusing him of undermining “Israeli democracy”.
Earlier this week, tens of thousands of settlers gathered tonight in occupied Al-Quds to protest in favor of the judicial reform, Israeli media reported.
The objective of the demonstrations, which was dubbed the “March of the Million”, was to show support for Netanyahu and his judicial overhaul initiative.
Israeli media highlighted, that through this initiative, PM Netanyahu sought to demonstrate the popularity of his political choices within the security and military institutions of the occupation government.
