The European Union is considering the possibility of restricting the passage of goods through Russian territory as part of the eleventh package of sanctions against Russia, according to Bloomberg.
According to her, “This proposal is being considered in order to combat the circumvention of restrictions already imposed on Moscow. Measures against ships that turn off transponders are also being studied.”
Last Friday, Russian President Vladimir Putin stressed the need to act clearly and quickly in the face of sanctions, noting that the task is not to adapt to them, but to create a basis for the country’s successful development.
It is noteworthy that Western countries, led by the United States and Britain, imposed unprecedented sanctions on Russia, following the launch of the special military operation in Ukraine, which included banning oil exports, shackling the banking sector, and preventing companies of major countries from dealing with the Russian market.
In addition, Russia was banned from dealing through the international financial messaging system “Swift”, and the assets of the Russian Central Bank in Western countries were frozen.
