Russia and the UAE plan to strengthen the free trade agreement between the Eurasian Economic Union and the UAE, with a bilateral agreement on trade in services and investment by the end of 2023.
This was reported by the Russian Ministry of Economic Development, and said: “The free trade agreement between the Eurasian Economic Union and the UAE will be supplemented by a bilateral agreement on trade in services and investment between Russia and the UAE. The main agreements are scheduled to be reached by the end of this year.”
This was confirmed by the Minister of Economic Development, Maxim Reshetnikov, during a meeting with the UAE Minister of State for Foreign Trade, Thani bin Ahmed Al-Zeyoudi, at the AIM Global 2023 International Investment Forum, and added that this group of agreements will enable Russian and Emirati entrepreneurs and investors to maximize the benefits of bilateral trade liberalization.
“When drawing up a bilateral agreement on trade in services and investment, existing bilateral and multilateral obligations between the two countries will be taken as a basis for creating new opportunities for entrepreneurs, service providers and investors,” the Russian minister said.
