Expert Andrei Krasnov said that the share of domestic information security solutions in Russia reached between 30 and 35% by the end of 2022, and by the end of this year it will exceed 50%.
“For almost 15 years, the state, with the help of organizational means, has encouraged the process of formulating and developing local solutions in the field of information security. According to our estimates, about 80-90% can be dispensed with imports. “In the categories of information security solutions without any problems or troubles. These products are available to us. But at the same time, according to the results of 2022, the share of national information security solutions in Russia reached 30-35%. We expect that by the end of 2023 this share will exceed 50%.”
With regard to systemic and applied software, the situation, according to the expert’s belief, is not very satisfactory. The main reason for this is that the cycle for developing a high-quality product in this area is 5-7 years, while the real work of stimulating this industry in Russia began only about two years ago.
“I think it is possible to replace about 30% of the existing foreign software with imports, but now the share of domestic solutions is no more than 15%,” Krasnov said.
