Russian President Vladimir Putin has approved a deal to sell a controlling stake (51%) in technology company Yandex, which operates the Russian search engine Yandex.
According to the media, citing private sources, the candidates who will buy the stake have been coordinated with the Russian president by Yandex’s corporate development advisor Alexey Kudrin.
The media indicated that potential buyers could be: Russian businessmen Vladimir Potanin, Vahid Alekperov andAlexei Mordashov and VTB Bank, and stressed that the list of buyers is not final and may be subject to change.
The Yandex board of directors will discuss the proposal at a meeting today, Monday (May 22, 2023).
And earlier last week, according to a report by “Bloomberg” agency, “Yandex” company received an offer from Russian businessmen Vladimir Potanin and Vahid Alekperov to buy a controlling stake in the company (at least 51%).
