Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin said at a Russian-Chinese business forum in Shanghai, China, today, Tuesday, that Russia’s enemies have failed to destroy its economy and national currency.
“Last year, Russia was subjected to an unprecedented scale of sanctions pressure. Its aim was to crash our economy, collapse the national currency and create devastating inflation, to hit the standard of living of ordinary citizens. None of what our enemies dreamed of happened,” Mishustin said at the event.
The Russian Prime Minister stressed that Russia has not only survived, but also continues its gradual development.
Previously, Russian President Vladimir Putin indicated that the policy of containing and weakening Russia is a long-term strategy for the West, and the sanctions that were imposed dealt a severe blow to the entire global economy.
Mishustin will visit China on the 23rd and 24th of this month, where he will hold meetings with the Chinese leadership and participate in the Russian-Chinese business forum.
