Russian President Vladimir Putin outlined the priorities and directions of the Eurasian Union’s work during the meeting of the leaders of the Union, which includes Belarus, Armenia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Russia, today, Thursday, in Moscow.
During the meeting of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council, the Russian President presented a set of proposals to develop the work of the Eurasian Union, the most prominent of which are as follows:
Putin: The Eurasian Union needs to create technological alliances with third countries
– Putin submits a proposal to create a Eurasian rating agency .
– Putin proposes the establishment of the Climate and Environment Club in the Economic and Social Union.
– Putin calls for ensuring freedom of movement in the space of the Eurasian Union.
– Putin urges action to increase the number of products under the brand “Made in the Eurasian Union”.
– Putin calls for intensifying work within the union in order to reach tangible results by the end of the year.
Today, the meeting of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council was held in the Russian capital, with the participation of the leaders of the Union, where cooperation between the Union countries was discussed in the sectors of energy, food security, technological independence, acceleration of digital transformation, removal of regulatory and trade barriers, and infrastructure development.
The Eurasian Economic Union was established in early 2015 on the basis of the customs union that existed at the time between Russia, Belarus and Kazakhstan, and Armenia and Kyrgyzstan joined it later in the same year.
The union agreements guarantee to all its members the freedom of movement of goods, services, capital and labor, and the adoption of an agreed policy in the sectors of trade, energy, industry, agriculture and transport.
