The director of the Maritime Navigation Company in the Caspian Sea, Kambiz Jahanbani, announced the launch of a regular weekly sea freight line from the Iranian port of Anzali to Russia.
The official described the ratio of shipping and transportation to the marine navigation company in this sea as positive, and pointed to the increase in the proportion of exports compared to imports for the first time in the history of the activity of this company.
The official said that, in line with the programs and objectives of the current government and within the framework of the future policy set for the Maritime Shipping Company of Iran, this work has been started, as the flow of shipping and transportation in the Caspian Sea is flexible, and we do not see the accumulation of goods in the ports of northern Iran, especially in the field of trade and export. Goods to Russia.
The official called on Iranian exporters to develop the shipping of goods through sea navigation, stressing the need to take decisions to ensure the continuation of regular visits to the weekly marine vessels, and efforts were made to reduce the cost of transporting goods.
The Director General of Maritime Navigation in the Caspian Sea added, “Container transportation services are currently being implemented by the Caspian Sea Shipping Company from the country’s northern ports to Russian ports, and we have the ability to do that in particular, and if the market needs it, we will quickly increase the supply of containers.” .
Regarding the North-South axis, he said: “In this axis, we see a steady increase in economic activities, as the shipping and transportation process witnessed an increase of 360% during the past year compared to the previous year, which shows the very good role played by maritime navigation in the Caspian Sea.”
The official believes that the construction of the railway between Rasht – Anzali – Astara is a turning point in the north-south road axis, stressing that the use of this axis will lead to linking Iran’s railways with Russia and then connecting with railways to Europe.
