The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates said today that the Israeli government is taking advantage of the double international standards and the absence of an international will to apply international law to the situation in occupied Palestine.
“Israel is coexisting with international reactions to its violations and crimes, realizing that these reactions are not accompanied by pressure, practical measures, sanctions or any form of accountability,” said the Foreign Ministry in a press statement.
It said the UN Security Council’s failure to exercise its duties towards the Palestinian people and their suffering undermines the credibility of the United Nations and the implementation of international law, “paving the way for the law of the jungle and the logic of force as a substitute for international legal legitimacy.”
The Ministry pointed out that Israel and its various arms are racing against time to implement the largest possible number of its colonial projects aimed at deepening the annexation of the occupied West Bank, including East Jerusalem, and perpetuating the Israeli apartheid regime.
