The administration of President Ebrahim Raisi has taken effective steps to neutralize sanctions imposed against the country, including by concentrating on using the high potentials of 15 neighboring countries, Farzad Piltan emphasized.
With the measures taken in this regard, comprehensive strategic five-year plans have been defined for all these countries with a focus on the development of trade infrastructures such as organizing the transportation platforms, banking exchanges, customs and standards, etc., he added.
Regarding exports of the country to the West Asian countries (nine countries) from March 21 to July 22, 2023, Piltan said the West Asian countries include Persian Gulf littoral states, Syria, Lebanon, Jordan and Turkey, and, according to the statistics of the Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration (IRICA), Iran exported about 20,850,000 tons of products, valued at about $7.230 billion, to these countries in the first four months of the current Iranian calendar year, registering about $3 million hike in value and about 3.8 million tons increase in weight.
The TPOI director general pointed to Iran’s trade with Saudi Arabia and said the two countries enjoy high potential to develop their bilateral ties in the fields of trade and economy.
