Due to economic problems, Germany has once again become “Europe’s sick man,” CNBC reported, citing the head of the Ifo Institute, Hans Werner Zain.
The nickname “Europe’s Sick Man” has resurfaced in recent weeks as industrial production in Europe’s largest economy continues to falter and the country struggles with rising energy prices. The term was originally used to describe the German economy, in 1998, as it overcame post-reunification economic challenges.
Expert Werner Zahn said: “This is not a short-term phenomenon.”
