In a video message posted to Hamas’s Telegram channel, the head of the group’s political bureau had this to say to US Secretary of State Antony Blinken as he begins his latest Middle East trip:
- We hope that Blinken will focus his visit to the region on ending the aggression in order to end the occupation.
- We hope that Blinken has learned lessons from the past three months and realised Washington’s mistakes in its support of the occupation.
- We hope that officials in Arab and Islamic countries will confirm to Washington that the stability of our region is linked to the Palestinian issue.
- Thousands of massacres and terrible destruction cannot achieve security or stability unless our people obtain their freedom and their independent state.
