Namibia’ s President Hage Geingob has expressed “deep concern” that Germany has failed to “draw lessons from its horrific history” after Germany announced it would support Israel against genocide charges at the International Court of Justice (ICJ).
Geingob called on Germany “to reconsider its untimely decision to intervene as a third-party in defence and support of the genocidal acts of Israel”.
The Namibia n president’s office described the case filed by South Africa at the World Court as “morally upright” and recalled Germany’s role in the Namibian genocide of 1904-1908.
“The German Government is yet to fully atone for the genocide it committed on Namibian soil,” a statement from the president’s office read.
