The foreign ministers of Iran and Qatar held a phone call to discuss efforts to stop the war on Gaza as Doha-mediated multilateral talks to strike a deal between Israel and Hamas are reportedly progressing.
The foreign ministries of both countries confirmed late Saturday that Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian and his Qatari counterpart Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani spoke about ways to end the devastating conflict in a phone call.
“The foreign ministers of both countries affirmed the majority of political actors emphasise stopping the war and seriously focusing on a political solution,” the Iranian Foreign Ministry said in a statement.
