President Mahmoud Abbas called this evening for immediate international intervention to stop the Israeli war of genocide against the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip, including the war of starvation waged by the Israeli occupation against the Palestinian people there.
The President condemned the policies of killing and attacks by the Israeli occupation forces and colonists in the West Bank, including Jerusalem. He also demanded the provision of desperately needed food and medical aid into the Gaza Strip, especially to the northern region.
He further called for permitting the Palestinian Red Crescent, the UNRWA, and all relevant international organizations to play their humanitarian roles without hindrance amid the ongoing Israeli aggression on the Palestinian people in Gaza.
Simultaneously, President Abbas held Israel responsible for the spread of diseases, epidemics, and famine in the Gaza Strip due to its prevention of the entry of food and medical aid. He reiterated his firm rejection of the displacement of Palestinians and the need for the return of the displaced to their homes.
These remarks were made as President Abbas received Dr. Younis Al Khatib, the President of the Palestinian Red Crescent, at the Presidential headquarters in Ramallah on Thursday evening.
During the meeting, Al Khatib provided a detailed explanation of the latest developments in the Gaza Strip, highlighting the difficult and dangerous conditions faced by the Palestinian people due to the ongoing Israeli aggression, as well as hindrance of the Palestinian Red Crescent teams by the Israeli occupation forces.
