‘Death sentence’ for more than 700,000 people in northern Gaza
Ismail al-Thawabtah, the director of the Government Media Office in Gaza, announced that, in a preliminary toll, over 71,000 people have been injured as a result of the Israeli war on the Strip.
Al-Thawabtah detailed in a statement that the Israeli occupation has committed 2,675 massacres against the Palestinian people in Gaza, resulting in 30,534 martyrs, including 13,430 children, 8,900 women, 364 doctors and medical staff, 48 civil defense personnel, and 132 journalists.
He also noted that “Israel” has committed 19 types of war crimes and crimes against humanity within its continuous savage aggression on Gaza.
The official warned of famine in northern Gaza amid the ongoing aggression and blockade, emphasizing that the Israeli occupation military is preventing the entry of humanitarian aid to the citizens there.
He also pointed to the continuous Israeli targeting of medical facilities in the Strip, which constitutes a war crime.
Al-Thawabtah deemed the suspension of aid delivery to northern Gaza a “death sentence” for more than 700,000 people, holding “Israel” and the United States responsible for the continuation of the starvation policy. He added that the US administration and the UN Security Council also bear full responsibility for the ongoing human rights abuses in the Strip.
The director of the Government Media Office called on the world to exert pressure on the Israeli occupation to stop the genocidal war on Gaza and urged the immediate and permanent opening of the Rafah crossing to bring in the accumulated aid and fuel to the Strip.
He also called on all humanitarian institutions to immediately resume work in the north due to the worsening humanitarian situation there.
