The Israeli occupation’s Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, proclaimed that the country’s “very survival is at stake”, and believed that “total victory” is attainable.
According to Netanyahu, for the Israeli occupation “to win this war,” it must “destroy the remaining Hamas battalions in Rafah,” otherwise “Hamas will regroup, rearm, and reconquer Gaza, and then we’re back to square one.”
This statement assumes that the Palestinian Resistance in the Gaza Strip’s center and north have been overcome. However, recent reports of major ambushes, among other operations, are proof that the Israeli occupation has failed to “destroy” the Resistance in general, and Hamas in specific, in neither the North nor the center of the Strip.
“We will finish the job in Rafah while enabling the civilian population to get out of harm’s way,” claimed Netanyahu, who made a baseless claim that the Israeli occupation forces deployed in the Strip had “taken measures to minimize civilian casualties that no other army has taken in history.”
Moreover, the Prime Minister reaffirmed that the war in the Strip only ends with either complete victory or absolute defeat as he claimed, “We will destroy Hamas, free our hostages, and ensure that Gaza doesn’t ever pose a threat to Israel again.”
Gaza Resistance’s ambushes inflict heavy losses on IOF in Khan Younis
On the 158th day of the war on Gaza, various Palestinian Resistance factions continued to engage in fierce confrontations with Israeli occupation forces at multiple axes, especially east of Khan Younis and west of it in the city of Hamad, south of the Strip.
This comes amid ongoing attempts by Israeli occupation forces to fortify their positions and advance toward further locations within the besieged Strip, as confirmed by Al Mayadeen’s correspondent.
Al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of the Hamas movement, announced the targeting of two Israeli infantry forces in a well-planned ambush at the L Towers complex in Hamad City.
The Brigades mentioned that its fighters engaged the two forces at point-blank range, adding that Israeli helicopters were observed evacuating the dead and wounded soldiers after the ambush.
Al-Qassam targeted an Israeli Merkava tank with a homemade al-Yassin 105 shell in the same city.
Al-Qassam fighters also detonated two anti-personnel explosive devices against two Israeli infantry forces and engaged their members, resulting in casualties, in the K and J Towers complexes in Hamad City.
