Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian has extended his congratulations to the government of Pakistan on the country’s National Day.
In a post on his X account on Saturday, Amir-Abdollahian felicitated Pakistani President Asif Ali Zardari, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar and all the people of Pakistan on this auspicious day.
In a phone call with the Pakistani prime minister earlier in March, Iranian President Ebrahim Raeisi said Tehran is prepared to expand all-out relations with Islamabad.
Over two months ago, Iran-Pakistan relations soured following an escalation of cross-border tensions over counter-terrorism operations. Soon afterwards, however, the two neighbors took steps towards easing tensions.
