A shipment of aid carrying almost 400 tonnes of food for Gaza has left Cyprus’s Larnaca port, marking the second time a maritime corridor is used to transfer humanitarian assistance to the besieged Palestinian enclave.
An aid ship operated by the Spanish NGO Open Arms offloaded 200 tonnes of food aid on March 16, which was distributed by the charity World Central Kitchen (WCK). The mission was financed mainly by the UAE and received the support of the Cypriot authorities.
