Last night, on Sunday, Talal Abu Zarifa, a member of the Political Bureau of the Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine (DFLP), was killed in an Israeli airstrike that targeted the al-Sabra neighborhood, south of Gaza City.
Local sources reported that at least three Palestinians were killed in the raid.
The DFLP’s central media mourned the martyrdom of Abu Zarifa, stating that he “was martyred while leading the resistance against the brutal Israeli invasion in the al-Sabra neighborhood, east of Gaza City, alongside his comrade Mahmoud Hamami
In a statement, the Front bid farewell to Abu Zarifa, describing him as a national leader who devoted his youth and years to fighting alongside his people under the DFLP. Abu Zarifa joined the ranks of the resistance movement while studying at a university in Algeria, and later returned to the Gaza Strip to assume his leadership duties.”
It pointed out that Abu Zarifa “was elected to the Political Bureau of the Democratic Front, very recently during the eighth General National Congress, which concluded its work last April.”
This statement comes amid ongoing Israeli occupation raids and attacks on the Gaza Strip which continue to kill and injure civilians. Meanwhile, the Resistance persists in confronting the IOF’s’ incursions into the Strip, inflicting significant losses on them.
The Palestinian Ministry of Health in Gaza announced on Wednesday, marking the 219th day of war on Gaza, that the number of Palestinians killed in the ongoing Israeli genocide has now reached 35,034, with 78,755 injured. The Ministry also reported that the Israeli occupation carried out eight massacres against families in the past 24 hours in the Strip, killing 63 people and wounding 114.
