The official presidential spokesman Nabil Abu Rudeineh warned of the dangerous repercussions of the Israeli aggression against Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip, stressing that insisting on invading Rafah would be a big mistake, and the US administration will bear responsibility for it because it is the only one capable of stopping it.
“We hold the American administration responsible for these dangerous repercussions that will have an impact on the region and the world as a whole, due to its failure to intervene in the required manner to force the occupation government to stop invading the city of Rafah and displacing citizens from it,” Rudeineh said in a statement.
“Had it not been for the US administration to provide financial and military support to Israel, and to prevent its condemnation in international forums, it would not have dared to continue the genocide against the Palestinian people, whether in the Gaza Strip or in the West Bank, including Jerusalem,” he added.
The official presidential spokesman stressed that the continuation of the US-backed aggression will lead to committing more massacres against Palestinian people, and exposing them to a new catastrophe, “which we will not accept, and we will not allow a repetition of what happened in 1948 and 1967,” he noted.
He pointed out that the occupation authorities’ continued control of the crossings, especially the Rafah land border crossing, and preventing the entry of aid and the exit of the sick and injured for treatment, are war crimes punishable by international law and a serious violation of international legitimacy resolutions.
He stressed the need for the US administration to take action, and not be satisfied with statements and condemnations, and to work to stop the aggression immediately, allow the entry of humanitarian aid, and stop the displacement of Palestinian people, especially from the city of Rafah.
Abu Rudeina reiterated that peace and security in the entire region will not be achieved without a just solution to the Palestinian issue and the establishment of an independent Palestinian state with Jerusalem as its capital, with its Islamic and Christian sanctities.
