Adam Bandt says Netanyahu’s “extreme war cabinet” must have sanctions on it by Labor while defense contracts and bilateral military trade must be withdrawn.
Shoukry’s agenda includes delivering two addresses: the first on cooperation within the BRICS framework and pertinent international and regional matters and the second on partnership cooperation models.
He is also set to hold bilateral meetings with his counterparts to discuss ways to strengthen bilateral relations and cooperation, according to a statement by the foreign ministry.
The meetings will also witness consultation on the most prominent international and regional issues, especially the Israeli war on the Gaza Strip, and efforts to enhance humanitarian aid access to the strip.
BRICS was formed in 2006 and initially included Brazil, Russia, India, and China.
In 2011, South Africa joined the intergovernmental organization.
The group was expanded during the 15th summit held in South Africa last August to include Egypt, Iran, the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Ethiopia. The new memberships were activated in January 2024.
Russia is the chairmanship of the BRICS group in 2024.
In late January, Egypt participated in the BRICS’ member states meeting in Moscow for the first time as a full member.
