In a telephone conversation, the Acting Foreign Minister of Iran and Qatar’s Minister of Foreign Affairs discussed the latest security developments in the Gaza Strip and joint mediation efforts to end the war in the region.
Iran’s Acting Foreign Minister Ali Bagheri Kani, in a telephone conversation with Qatar’s Foreign Minister Mohammad bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, emphasized the need to address the current tensions in the West Asian region and the need to establish stability and peace in this region.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Qatar in a statement announced on Thursday night that Foreign Minister Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani held a telephone conversation with Iran’s Acting Foreign Minister Ali Bagheri Kani and discussed the latest situation in Gaza and efforts to mediate for achieving a ceasefire.
During this call, the two sides discussed bilateral relations and cooperation between the two countries, exploring ways to bolster and develop bilateral relations, reviewing the latest situation in the besieged Gaza Strip and the occupied Palestinian territories and also the latest developments related to the efforts for joint mediation to end the war, the statement added.
By publishing the latest statistics, the Palestinian Ministry of Health announced that since October 7, 2023, more than 40,000 Palestinian citizens have been martyred in the Gaza Strip.
