The world-famous bodybuilder, ILLIA GOLEM , described as ‘The Beast’ and considered the largest on Earth, has died. The standing height was 6 feet 1 inch or around 186 cm with a chest and biceps standing at 25 inches or approximately 63 cm. His death, surely, is one giant loss to the world of fitness.
According to reports, the bodybuilder suffered a heart attack in his apartment on September 6. His wife, Anna, kept doing compressions to his chest and awaited an ambulance. Anna thus described to Belarusian media: “I prayed throughout, hoping that Ilya would recover”.
She continued: “His heart started beating again for two days, but the doctor brought in the terrible news-that his brain had died.”
Russian newspaper Kommersant reported, “On September 6, the athlete suffered a heart attack and fell into a coma. His death was confirmed on September 11.”
Though he did not compete professionally, he gained fame on social media, amassing over 300,000 followers on Instagram, where fans admired his extraordinary physique. He lived in Belarus, the Czech Republic, the United States, and Dubai.
He reportedly weighed 70 kg in his school days in Belarus and could not do a single push-up.
He once said, “My transformation is the result of years of hard training and discipline, combined with a deep understanding of exercise physiology and nutrition.”
His death is just adding to the growing concerns about health risks associated with bodybuilding.
