Supporters of former U.S. President Donald Trump have called for him to use private security rather than relying solely on the Secret Service, following his second assassination attempt in two months.
According to a report by the Daily Mail, Trump’s supporters on social media have suggested employing military veterans or even members of the Hells Angels motorcycle gang as an alternative form of protection.
Among those who commented was Robert O’Neill, the former Navy SEAL known for killing Osama bin Laden. On X (formerly Twitter), O’Neill wrote, “Maybe we should get private security for President Trump… for God’s sake.” Many users on X expressed their belief that Trump needs enhanced protection, citing doubts about the Secret Service’s ability to provide adequate security, especially given Trump’s recent federal government accusations. Some users also noted that Trump has the financial resources to afford additional security for himself and his family.
Proposed ideas include hiring volunteer veterans or using motorcycle gang members, with one user suggesting that these individuals act swiftly and decisively.
Others pointed out that Trump can afford private security, allowing him to take extra measures to ensure his safety.
This debate comes amid growing concerns about Trump’s security. President Joe Biden has emphasized the need to strengthen Secret Service resources to ensure better protection.
