Lebanese Health Minister Firas Al-Abyad held a press conference on Wednesday, praising the swift response of the ministry and medical teams in treating the wounded, especially those in critical condition.

Al-Abyad stated, “The death toll has reached 12, including two children and several healthcare workers. There are also 300 in critical condition.” Some of the injured from the Bekaa region were transferred to Syria for further treatment. Blood banks received over 2,000 donations within just three hours after the explosion, a record event in Lebanon’s history.
Hospital and Ambulance Response
He added, “100 hospitals treated the injured yesterday, and 1,184 ambulances transported both the wounded and deceased.” Between 2,750 and 2,800 people were injured, with 750 from the south, 1,850 in Beirut and surrounding areas, and 150 in the Bekaa region.

Al-Abyad reported that “1,800 patients required hospital care, with 10% in critical condition. Many surgeries lasted into the early morning hours.”
The minister thanked several countries for their support, saying, “Medical supplies have arrived from Iraq, Iran, and Jordan. Some of the injured were transported to Syria and Iran for further care.”
He urged media outlets to report accurately and avoid spreading rumors during this difficult time.
