Chief of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Major General Yousef Ahmed Huneiti, reaffirmed on Sunday that the Jordanian Armed Forces (JAF) continue to enhance their defensive and security capabilities. This is achieved by utilizing all available resources, modernizing equipment and weapons, and implementing continuous and effective training to maintain the security and stability of Jordan.
General Huneiti made these remarks during his visit to the 9th Royal Border Guard Battalion, a unit within the Northern Military Region. Upon arrival, he was welcomed by the region’s commander.
He received briefings on the operational, training, and logistical aspects of the region’s formations and units, especially the 2nd Border Guard Brigade, which plays a crucial role in securing the borders and preventing infiltration and smuggling.
Visit to the Southern Military Region
In a related visit, General Huneiti inspected the 8th Royal Border Guard Battalion in the Southern Military Region, where he was also greeted by the local commander.
He was briefed by commanders on the tasks and duties of the units under their command, all aimed at ensuring maximum readiness and efficiency.
Focus on Technology and Defense
During both visits, General Huneiti emphasized the importance of utilizing military and technological capabilities to confront current threats. He also stressed the need to deploy various weapons systems to support the Armed Forces’ mission.
He toured the frontlines of both battalions, expressing his admiration for the high level of preparedness and the critical role the Border Guards play in defending the nation’s security with skill and dedication.
Message of Appreciation to the Troops
Accompanied by senior officers, General Huneiti met with members of both battalions, conveying the greetings and appreciation of Jordan’s Supreme Commander. He praised the efforts of the Jordanian Armed Forces personnel and highlighted the high morale within both the Northern and Southern Military Regions. He also called for continued dedication to protect the nation and stand united against any threat to its security and stability.
