Under the directives of Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates, and with the oversight of Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President and Deputy Prime Minister, Sheikh Theyab bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan has launched a nationwide relief campaign to support the Lebanese people.
UAE’s “With You, Lebanon” Relief Initiative
The campaign, titled “UAE With You, Lebanon,” will run from Tuesday, October 8, to Monday, October 21. It will involve participation from the general public, as well as government and private sector institutions.
Sheikh Theyab bin Mohamed bin Zayed emphasized the UAE’s firm commitment to supporting Lebanon during its humanitarian challenges, stating, “The UAE, under the leadership of Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed, is dedicated to assisting our Lebanese brothers and sisters during these difficult times.”
He also highlighted the strong humanitarian spirit of the Emirati community, saying, “We trust the UAE’s individuals, businesses, and organizations will stand with our friends and provide much-needed aid during these crises.”
Massive Aid and International Collaboration
This campaign follows Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed’s recent order to provide urgent relief worth $100 million to assist Lebanon. The UAE has already dispatched six planes carrying approximately 205 tons of medical supplies, food, and emergency shelter equipment to alleviate the severe humanitarian and health conditions. The relief efforts are in partnership with international organizations such as the World Health Organization (WHO), UNICEF, UNHCR, and the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies.
