Hezbollah has intensified its rocket attacks on Israeli settlements and cities, leading the Israeli army to call for the evacuation of an area in eastern Lebanon as a precaution before planned military actions.
According to the Israeli army’s radio station, around 30 rockets were launched from Lebanon towards the Western Galilee region, fortunately resulting in no reported injuries. Channel 12 in Israel reported that the latest wave included five rockets aimed at the Galilee area.
Al Jazeera’s correspondent indicated that a series of rockets were fired from Lebanon targeting the Israeli site of Rweisat al-Alam in the Kfar Shuba hills. The Israeli Home Front Command announced that air raid sirens were sounding in Haifa, Akko, and across extensive areas of Upper Galilee, affecting over 60 towns and cities in northern Israel.
Hezbollah confirmed that it had struck a gathering of Israeli soldiers in the Sidonah area of the occupied Shebaa Farms with a barrage of rockets.
Evacuation Warnings
In response to the escalating situation, the Israeli army urged residents of a region in eastern Lebanon’s Bekaa Valley to evacuate, warning that military operations would soon target that area. Israeli army spokesperson Avichai Adraee issued an urgent message to residents, particularly those in a designated building on the map located in Tamnine, stating that they are near facilities and interests associated with Hezbollah, which will soon be targeted by the Israeli army.
The Lebanese Ministry of Health reported that three people were killed in an Israeli airstrike on the town of Tayr Diba in southern Lebanon on Wednesday. Late Wednesday night, the Lebanese news agency reported that another hostile airstrike targeted Tayr Diba, with additional strikes hitting Aita ash-Shab.
Within three hours on Wednesday evening, the agency reported more than 15 Israeli airstrikes targeting towns in eastern and southern Lebanon, including Tayr Diba, Zefta, Kfar Kila, Iyait, Majdel Zoun, Aita ash-Shab, Frun, and Ghunduriya.
According to a report by the government’s emergency committee, a total of 138 Israeli airstrikes were recorded over the past 24 hours across various regions of Lebanon.
Since September 23, Israel has significantly increased its airstrikes on Lebanon and has pushed into southern areas, resulting in nearly 2,000 deaths and thousands of injuries, displacing around 1.5 million people. In retaliation, Hezbollah has been responding daily with rockets, drones, and artillery shells targeting military sites and settlements, while the Israeli military imposes strict censorship on most casualty figures.
