An Israeli airstrike targeted a location near Rafik Hariri University Hospital in Beirut on Monday night, according to a report by Sky News Arabia.
The Lebanese Ministry of Health reported at least four people killed and 24 injured as a result of the airstrike, with the numbers representing an initial tally.
A video from the scene showed smoke rising near the entrance of the university hospital, located in the Jnah area close to the southern suburbs of Beirut.
In addition to this, Israeli airstrikes also targeted Beirut’s southern suburbs on Monday evening, following new warnings from Israel to evacuate buildings in various neighborhoods in preparation for bombing.
The National News Agency (NNA) of Lebanon confirmed that the “Israeli enemy airstrike hit the Ouzai area in the southern suburbs.” This marked the first time this neighborhood has been targeted since the escalation of tensions between Hezbollah and Israel began.
A source from the Islamic Health Organization, an ambulance service affiliated with Hezbollah, told Agence France-Presse (AFP) that at least three people were killed in the Israeli strike on Ouzai.
The NNA also reported that “a hostile airstrike targeted the Haret Hreik area near the Alama station in the southern suburbs.”
Israeli army spokesperson Avichay Adraee issued a warning on the platform X (formerly Twitter), specifying areas that must be evacuated, including a location near Beirut’s airport.
