U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken stated on Wednesday in Tel Aviv that the time has come to end the war in Gaza. Speaking to reporters, Blinken emphasized that Israel must intensify its efforts to allow more humanitarian aid into the Gaza Strip, acknowledging that while some “progress” has been made, more needs to be done.
As Blinken prepares to depart Israel for Saudi Arabia as part of his regional tour, he remarked, “Since October 7 last year, Israel has achieved most of its strategic objectives regarding Gaza. It is now time to turn these successes into lasting and strategic gains.”
He further noted, “Two key issues remain: the return of the hostages and the conclusion of the war, alongside an understanding of what comes next.”
Commenting on aid to Gaza, Blinken acknowledged, “Progress has been made, which is positive, but more progress is needed, and most importantly, it must continue.”
