Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump accused Democratic candidate Kamala Harris on Tuesday of violating U.S. law and following immigration policies he described as “destructive.” Speaking at a rally in Florida, Trump asserted that Harris’s policies have negatively impacted the lives of Americans.
Trump stated, “Harris followed policies that hurt people in the U.S., and many can attest to the consequences.” He further claimed that “crime is low in Venezuela because they arrested criminals and sent them toward the United States.”
He criticized the “open-border policies” allegedly initiated by President Joe Biden and Harris, holding them “entirely responsible for the current border situation.” Trump also noted that U.S. Border Patrol agents have endorsed his campaign, with many labeling Harris as “the worst person they have worked with.”
Trump went on to accuse Harris of “cold-blooded betrayal” by “opening the borders to unknown migrants, allowing other countries to release criminals who now roam our streets.” He stated, “Kamala broke and ruined the law, allowing innocent Americans to be harmed.”
In addition to border security, Trump touched on the broader impacts of inflation, saying it’s “destroying our country and our economy.” He added that, as part of his platform, he plans to relieve older Americans from tax burdens, emphasizing that “seniors have been hit hard by inflation due to policies Harris supported.”
