The Palestinian News Agency reported that ten Palestinians were killed and several others injured on Monday evening when an Israeli airstrike targeted a tent sheltering displaced individuals in western Khan Younis, southern Gaza. According to medical sources, the tent was set up to offer internet access to displaced residents near the southern “Asda” gate in western Khan Younis.
In a new escalation, Israeli forces also moved tanks into the western side of Nuseirat Refugee Camp in central Gaza on Monday, intensifying the ongoing military presence. Local residents reported that Israeli tanks opened fire during this incursion, creating panic among families, many of whom are already displaced.
The Gaza conflict, now in its fourteenth month, has seen Israel concentrate its operations in northern and central Gaza in what it describes as efforts to prevent Hamas militants from regrouping and launching further attacks.
Meanwhile, Israeli authorities have issued evacuation orders to tens of thousands of Palestinian residents, raising fears among the displaced about the possibility of being permanently barred from returning to their homes.
