Cat Receives Military Rank in Russian Government Institution
On this Friday, the Ministry of Emergency Situations in Moscow has awarded the cat “Tolik” the military rank of warrant officer, celebrating Rescuer’s Day in Russia.
Tolik, who serves in the fire department at the Semenychi unit in Moscow, received his first special rank on Rescuer’s Day in Russia, according to Russian media reports.
The Moscow Ministry of Emergency Situations wrote on its Telegram channel: “Firefighter cat
‘Tolik,’ who serves in section ‘PCh 89’ of the Southeastern Administrative District Directorate of
the Main Directorate of the Russian Emergency Situations Ministry for the city of Moscow, has
been awarded his first special rank of ‘warrant officer.'”
Employees crafted miniature shoulder straps for Tolik, and there are plans in the future to tailor
an official uniform for him, associated with the Ministry of Emergency Situations.
Over the years of service, Tolik has won the hearts of firefighters and become their loyal friend.
Tolik actively participates in duties, visiting guard posts daily, and also accompanies rescuers on
field trips.
