Russia Declares 205 Foreign and International Organizations Undesirable on Its Territory
In a significant move aimed at curbing foreign influence, Deputy Prosecutor General of Russia, Alexey Gavriarov, announced that activities of 205 foreign and international organizations have been deemed undesirable within Russia as of the latest count.
Gavriarov made these remarks during a session of the Duma Commission that investigates instances of foreign interference in Russia’s domestic affairs, stating, “To date, decisions have been made regarding 205 foreign and international organizations, declaring their activities undesirable on the territory of the Russian Federation.”
He further noted that in 2024 alone, 71 decisions were made to label various organizations’ activities as undesirable in Russia.
Investigations by the RT network have uncovered intriguing details about the American “Young Presidents’ Organization” (YPO), which was added to the list of undesirable organizations by the Russian Prosecutor General’s Office in October 2024.
Additionally, Russia’s Ministry of Justice had previously included the “Clooney Foundation for Justice” in its registry of NGOs whose activities are considered undesirable within the country.
