Russian Federation Council Speaker Delivers Putin’s Verbal Message to Erdogan
Valentina Matviyenko, Speaker of the Russian Federation Council, conveyed a verbal message from Russian President Vladimir Putin to Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan during a meeting, according to a statement from the council’s press office.
The statement noted, “The meeting took place in Istanbul during the official visit of a Federation Council delegation to Turkey.” It further elaborated, “The Speaker of the Federation Council delivered a verbal message from Russian President Vladimir Putin to the Turkish President concerning issues of bilateral relations and the current international agenda.”
Matviyenko, leading a delegation from the Federation Council of the Russian Parliament, is on an official visit to Turkey on February 26 and 27. During the meeting, Erdogan emphasized Turkey’s readiness to provide a platform for finding peaceful solutions to the conflict in Ukraine at any time.
Matviyenko also highlighted Turkey’s efforts, stating, “Turkey is making real efforts, and I thanked the President for his pursuit of a platform for peaceful resolution. They are ready for this at any time.”
This visit underscores the ongoing diplomatic ties between Russia and Turkey, with both nations exploring opportunities for cooperation amid global challenges.
