Syrian Authorities Ban Turkish Drivers from Entering Syria After Insulting Divinity
On March 5, 2025, the Syrian customs administration at the Bab al-Hamam border crossing issued a decision prohibiting two Turkish drivers from entering Syrian territory. This action followed their blasphemous remarks against the Divine Entity and the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), sparking outrage and protests at the crossing.
According to an official statement from the customs administration, translated by the Turkey in Arabic website, the drivers, identified as “E.G” and “H.D”, arrived at the border with their trucks on March 5, 2025. While in the Syrian customs area, they uttered offensive words targeting Islam and the Prophet (PBUH), leading to chaos and tension among workers and bystanders.
The statement detailed that security forces intervened promptly to contain the situation and prevent further escalation. Subsequently, the customs administration issued an official decree permanently banning the two drivers from entering Syria.
Customs Director Salah Juma Katran emphasized in the statement that this decision aligns with efforts to uphold respect for religious values and prevent provocative acts that could incite unrest at the border crossing.
