Denouncing the schoolgirl poisoning incidents across Iran as a “crime and an inhumane act” committed by the enemies, President Ebrahim Raisi called for accurate and timely information on the incidents
In comments at a cabinet meeting on Sunday, Raisi referred to the report from the Minister of Intelligence on the investigation into the issue of poisoning of a number of schools across the country, saying, “The new conspiracy of the enemy to create fear in the hearts of students, our dear children and their parents is a crime and it is an anti-human act.”
He also emphasized the need to follow up on this issue and provide accurate and timely information to the relevant agencies to address people’s concerns, the president’s official website reported.
“This action is another link in the chain of enemy conspiracies, which is aimed at creating inflammation in the society and disturbing the public mind and instilling fear among the children of this land,” Raisi warned.
Since November 2022, some Iranian students have reported symptoms of poisoning while in school. The outbreak started in Qom before expanding to other cities.
In most cases, students suffered respiratory problems, nausea, fatigue and dizziness, while some were hospitalized.
