Russia still has not heard any reaction from international organizations regarding the assassination of journalist Darya Dugina as well as other ‘atrocities’ committed against media representatives, Russian Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said on Sunday.
“A year after Dugina’s tragic death, we still haven’t heard a word from relevant international organizations and human rights institutions on this issue as well as about many other deliberate atrocities against media representatives, whose point of view did not coincide with the opinion approved by the collective West,” Zakharova said in a statement.
“Hypocrisy, separation into bad and good among their own and other journalists – this is the prevailing factor in the activities of such structures,” she continued. “Once again, we draw the attention of international human rights organizations and judicial institutions to the gross violation of journalists’ rights and the employment of terrorist methods against them.”
Darya Dugina, 29, was killed on August 20 when her car was blown up on the M1 Highway near the village of Bolshiye Vyazemy in the Moscow Region’s Odintsovsky district. On August 22, the Russian Federal Security Service’s Public Relations Center told TASS that her murder had been solved. According to the agency, it was carried out by Ukraine’s intelligence services, and the perpetrator was a Ukrainian citizen named Natalia Vovk.
Later, the FSB reported that in addition to Vovk, Dugina’s murder had been plotted in Moscow by another member of this Ukrainian sabotage and terrorist group, Ukrainian citizen Bogdan Tsyganenko.
