A number of Palestinians sustained injuries and fractures after Israeli forces attacked Muslim worshippers outside al-Aqsa Mosque (Bab al-Asbat) of Jerusalem’s Old City, said WAFA correspondent.
A number of people sustained injuries and cuts, including a fracture as a result of being struck with a stun grenade in the foot, after Israeli police attacked worshipers outside the al-Aqsa mosque at Lions’ Gate, assaulting and beating them up.
The stun-grenade-injury was taken to hospital for treatment. A Jerusalemite was also detained near Bab-al-Asbat.
Tens of thousands performed the Friday prayer today inside the al-Aqsa mosque compound despite the strict Israeli restrictions imposed at the gates of the mosque.
Israeli police reportedly deployed about its officers in the streets and alleys of the Old City and at the gates of the al-Aqsa mosque, impeding worshippers’ access to the mosque and attacking worshipers.
