Russian Forces Strengthen Presence in Quneitra and Daraa by Establishing 9 Observation Posts
Russian military units deployed in Syria have intensified their presence near the “disengagement zone” at the edge of the occupied Syrian Golan Heights by setting up nine new observation posts in the countryside of Quneitra and Daraa.
General Alexander Rodionov, Deputy Commander of Russian Forces in Syria, confirmed in a press statement that these posts were established in coordination with the Syrian Arab Army. Their aim is to carry out air and ground surveillance operations. He clarified that the Russian forces, which
began their mission in Syria at the invitation of the Syrian state in 2015, have not withdrawn from
any position in the area but have instead reinforced their presence.
A field commander from the Syrian Arab Army noted that the deployment of Russian military police units along the “disengagement line” contributes to enhancing security and stability. He
mentioned that cooperation between the Syrian Army and Russian forces has facilitated the
return of residents to their areas, allowing them to resume normal life following the liberation
from terrorism.
Additionally, the SANA camera visited one of the observation posts established by Russian forces
in Tal al-Hara in the countryside of Daraa, documenting the significant role these posts play in
bolstering security and stability in the region.
