Highlighting the significant and fruitful meeting with his Russian counterpart during a visit to Moscow, Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian said negotiations have been held on the long-term comprehensive cooperation agreement between the two states.
“Today, I held important and fruitful talks with Mr. Lavrov about bilateral, regional and international issues,” the top Iranian diplomat said in a post on his Twitter account on Wednesday night.
Amirabdollahian said his negotiations have revolved around the “pursuit of agreements between the presidents (of Iran and Russia) and exchanging views about the long-term comprehensive cooperation treaty” between Tehran and Moscow.
“Participation in the foreign relations commission of the Duma and finally, inauguration of services for issuing national ID cards for Iranian nationals at the Embassy (in Moscow),” he added, the Foreign Ministry’s website reported.
In a meeting with his Russian counterpart Sergei Lavrov on Wednesday, Amirabdollahian unveiled plans to finalize the draft agreement on comprehensive and strategic cooperation with Russia within the next month.
