Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov stressed the importance of the “Akuyu” nuclear plant project, which is being built by “Rosatom” in Turkey, in Russian-Turkish relations, especially in the Turkish energy sector.
He pointed out that he had not yet taken a decision on the form of Russian President Vladimir Putin’s participation in the upcoming event of the “Akuyu” nuclear plant, where it is planned to load nuclear fuel at the station on April 27 next.
The Kremlin spokesman pointed out that Russia’s representation during the event will be at a decent level, and said: “No decision has been taken yet in this regard. The only thing that can be said is that the representation of the Russian side in the event, which will be held at the end of April (2023), will be at decent level.”
Yesterday, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan announced that the date for loading nuclear fuel at the Akkuyu nuclear plant will be on April 27.
The “Akuyu” nuclear plant is a nuclear power plant in the Turkish city of Mersin. It is the first Turkish nuclear power plant, and includes 4 reactors with a capacity of 4,800 megawatts. It is being built by the Russian company “Rosatom”, and the cost of the project is about 20 billion US dollars.
