The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates condemned the systematic attack by Israeli institutions against the independent Special Rapporteur on the situation of human rights in the occupied Palestinian territory, Francesca Albanese.
In a statement, the Foreign Ministry referred to the tools of the occupation, including some institutions and organizations that disguise themselves as non-governmental organizations, claiming to be a forum for international law, while in fact whitewashing the crimes of the occupation, and working to normalize and facilitate the impunity of this colonial and apartheid system.
The ministry affirmed its support and the support of the Palestinian people and their leadership, and all the world’s leaders and free people of the world, for the work of the special rapporteurs, led by the rapporteur Francesca Albanese, and its support for all those who sided with international law and its principles.
The Ministry stressed that the attack by Israeli institutions is aimed at silencing independent international bodies from presenting their positions based on international law, international principles and ideals, which naturally contradict the war crimes and crimes against humanity committed by Israel and its officials.
The Foreign Ministry affirmed that it will defend human rights defenders, special rapporteurs, and international law and its institutions, stressing that it will bring war criminals and their tools from these shady institutions to international justice.
The Ministry called on the international community, the Secretary-General of the United Nations, the High Commissioner for Human Rights, and the Prosecutor General of the International Criminal Court, to condemn and reject the attack on the Special Rapporteur for human rights in the occupied Palestinian territory, including Jerusalem, and to come out publicly to condemn this act, and to bring the accomplices to international justice.
