Turkish Energy Minister, Fatih Donmez, announced an agreement with the Russian company “Gazprom” that includes postponing part of gas payments due to a sharp increase in blue fuel prices last year.
In an interview with the Turkish “Khabar Global” channel, Donmez confirmed the existence of an agreement and discussions that took place between Turkey and “Gazprom”, and indicated that Turkey maintains good relations with Russia in all sectors, including the energy sector.
And media reports had reported earlier that Turkey had asked Russia to postpone part of the gas payments to solve the crisis of high blue fuel prices, and the Turkish government hopes that the deferred payments will continue until 2024.
It should be noted that Russian President Vladimir Putin had affirmed his country’s support for meeting Turkey’s requests for energy resources, especially natural gas.
