The Israeli occupation forces conduct air raids on the Gaza Strip, targeting resistance sites and residential buildings.
The Israeli occupation forces (IOF) conducted air raids on the Gaza Strip at dawn, injuring numerous civilians in the process, an Al Mayadeen correspondent reported.
The air raids targeted Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ) sites in the Gaza Strip, the IOF claimed in the wake of the aggression that took place at dawn local time.
After the warplanes bombed the blockaded Strip, the Israeli government ordered its settlers in the settlements of the Gaza envelope to go into bomb shelters until further notice.
Preliminary reports suggest that the Israeli occupation forces targeted two residential apartments in Gaza and Rafah, an Al Mayadeen correspondent reported.
Moreover, medical officials in Gaza reported that the bombing resulted in numerous injuries in the city of Rafah, with a number of Palestinians getting transported to healthcare facilities.
The Israeli occupation forces conducted numerous air raids on the city of Khan Yunis in the South of the Gaza Strip, in addition to one air raid on Rafah and another in central Gaza City.
This comes after the Palestinian Resistance last week in the Gaza Strip launched several salvoes of rockets toward the Israeli settlements and military sites, with the Israeli occupation’s Iron Dome attempting to intercept them.
An Al Mayadeen correspondent reported last Tuesday that Israeli warplanes targeted a resistance site West of Gaza City, while also bombing the vicinity of a government site northwest of Gaza City.
The Israeli occupation air force launched raids on a resistance site West of Khan Yunis, South of the Gaza Strip.
Meanwhile, the resistance utilized its air defenses to intercept the raiding Israeli aircraft in the northern Gaza Strip, an Al Mayadeen correspondent reported, noting that the SAMs went off as salvoes of rockets were launched from the Gaza envelope toward the settlements of the Gaza envelope.
The Palestinian shelling of the Israeli occupation came in response to the latter assassinating a top PIJ official behind its bars.
PIJ announced on Tuesday the martyrdom of one of its senior members, Khader Adnan, inside Israeli occupation prisons.
Khader Adnan’s martyrdom, who had been on hunger strike for nearly three months in protest of his unfair detention, came two days after the Israeli military court in Ofer Prison refused to issue his release despite several warnings that his health condition was deteriorating.
It is noteworthy that this open-ended hunger strike, which Adnan staged until his death is the longest he has ever waged over the past years of his detention. The martyr had already been through five previous hunger strikes.
The occupation forces arrested Khader Adnan on February 5, after raiding his house in the town of Arraba, south of Jenin.
Adnan had been arrested a total of 12 times throughout his life and spent a total of 8 years in occupation detention centers, most of which were under administrative detention.
