Li Hui, China’s special envoy for Eurasian affairs, may visit Moscow next week, a source with knowledge of the matter told TASS on Saturday.
“Li Hui’s visit to Moscow is expected next week,” he said.
Earlier, Chinese Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Wang Wenbin announced that the Chinese special envoy would visit Russia, Germany, Poland, Ukraine and France to take part in the talks seeking to resolve the Ukraine crisis.
On May 16-17, Li Hui visited Kiev. He stated that there is no panacea to resolve the Ukraine crisis and China will help resolve it in its own way. The Chinese envoy held talks with Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky, his office head Andrey Yermak and Foreign Minister Dmitry Kuleba. Li Hui is also scheduled to visit Brussels, Paris, Berlin and Moscow.
In late February, the Chinese Foreign Ministry published a document on the political resolution of the Ukraine crisis. It consists of 12 points, including calls for a ceasefire, respect for the legitimate security interests of all countries, settlement of the humanitarian crisis in Ukraine, the exchange of prisoners of war between Moscow and Kiev, as well as the avoidance of unilateral sanctions without a corresponding decision of the UN Security Council.
