Ukraine’s Lvov mayor, Andriy Sadovyi, said on Tuesday that a critical infrastructure facility sustained damaged by a drone attack.
“This night, drones attacked Lviv and the region. There is a hit against a critical infrastructure facility,” Sadovyi said on Telegram, noting that no death of injuries were reported as a result of the strike.
Fire brigades and emergency services are currently working at the scene, he added.
Earlier this morning, sirens sounded all across the Lviv region, and explosions were reportedly heard across the city and its surroundings.
Power blackouts and outages have also been reported in several districts of the Kiev region, and electric transport likewise stopped in the city.
Kiev’s electricity operator, DTEK, later said on Telegram that four high voltage substations were shut down at 7:47 local time (4:47 GMT). Electricity was restored shortly after workers managed to activate reserve sources.
On Tuesday, sirens sounded in several regions across Ukraine and blasts were heard in several regions of Kiev, Vinnytsia, and Khmelnytskyi.
Russia began to target Ukraine’s critical infrastructure following the terror attack on the Crimean bridge in October 2022.
